Small Weddings at Polpier and Penpol
Polpier may be rented, at certain times of the year, for only up to ten guests, just right for couples who want an intimate wedding in Cornwall with their very nearest and dearest. The drawing room is an elegant location for the civil service with its views over Mevagissey’s historic harbour.
Alternatively, our flexible accommodation means couples can have up to 24 family and friends join then for a luxurious stayacation wedding with plenty of time for everyone to chill out and treasure the occasion. There is also time to enjoy the facilities and explore the beautiful Cornish beaches and countryside.
Renting both Polpier and Penpol gives the bride and groom the opportunity to indulge in being together but also have the freedom and space for private preparations. Brides love having the choice of Penpol for their girl gang or taking over Polpier’s large blue bedroom for pre-wedding pampering. Wedding photographs and videos shared with us, show bottles of bubbly make an appearance.
The groom and his best mates may feel Polpier’s snooker room is their natural domain, but there are plenty of places in the houses and gardens for last minute chats and rehearsals of the speeches. A stroll down to Mevagissey for a pint in one of the pubs is also a popular activity.
Our relaxed attitude to caterers means couples can choose whoever they want to for the wedding breakfast – fish and chips sent up from the village is a fun option. Family and friends may take over the catering and flowers, which adds to the feeling of intimacy. And as couples provide their own drinks with no corkage charges, it helps the budget go on what the couple want.
The fabulous gardens and sea view means beautiful locations for wonderful wedding photographs throughout the day and, after the last dance in the disco, the couple have the glorious privacy of the Honeymoon Suite. We may be a small wedding venue in Cornwall but we have everything for a perfect wedding.
